Lent

As Lent approaches we are looking at our preparation. The few weeks before Ash Wednesday will have covered some Matthew 6 themes on giving and prayer, but Christ moves on from these to fasting. So we’re well on the way to Lent.

I’m always a bit wary when I know I’ve preached on a topic before, and for the regular seasonal themes particularly so. I see from my folder of sermons that I’ve preached at the start of Lent in 7 of the last 10 years. Do I look at these to avoid repetition, or studiously ignore doing so in an attempt to remain fresh?

I’ll post these old sermons retrospectively so you can browse through, wake up, and smell the coffee. The themes are clear enough, as you might expect.

Follow these links, or those on the right (or at the bottom if you’re on a small screen), and catch a whiff of Lent. It might not be what you were expecting…
